Dear
Bonnie,
I was fortunate to participate in the Jeannie Thoren
Clinic January
14-15th,2006. I have been away from skiing for five years and had no
idea how to assess my equipment needs. The Friday night boot fitting
at Dekdebrun's was magic. They even expanded my boot
to accommodate
my bunion. So the next morning, heel lifts intact, I was ready and
comfortable to demo skis. First we were assessed in our old
equipment, video'd and critiqued. Then we made our
way to Dekdebrun's
tent(see photo...) to try various skis with Jeannie's advice. We
vigorously tested the new skis through a series of exercises and
expert instruction from two of Holimont's finest
instructors, Adele
and Gail. By the end of the day I found a sweet match...
The social hour that followed reinforced the days learning. About a
dozen happy exhausted women prepared for the next day.
Sunday, we set out on new and adjusted equipment and after a few
warmup runs we were filmed again.... the results were
evident.
Everyone skied confidently.... turning 'em both
ways... with rhythm.
A special thanks to Jeannie, her husband Tom, Greg Dekdebrun
and
crew, the instructors, Adele and Gail for reminding me how much I
love to ski. Age is not a factor when you have the right, well fitted
skis and boots.
I'm sending you some photos of the great weekend. I would be pleased
if you used my experience as encouragement for others to participate
in future ski clinics at Holimont.
Sincerely,
Ann Cochren
